#016 January Print
This month’s Art Collectors piece is finished! I call it, “Inner Glow.”
My phrase for the year is, “Confidence in the Lord.” In the last two years I’ve really noticed my work, my body, people pleasing, and the future causing me so much unrest.
But it’s this year that I’m choosing to dig deep, get messy, and make “Miss Confidence” a permanent resident within my soul, and not just a friendly neighbor!
This year I really want God’s word to suffocate the weeds in my heart. I really want to draw my confidence from Him alone and not from what I achieve or how I’m perceived any longer!
The heart behind Inner Glow is that even when I don’t see the changes on the outside, as long as I’m seeking the Lord’s help - His strength, His hope, and His wisdom - NOTHING is wasted. Those good seeds will ALWAYS grow as long as the Lord’s involved.
And that change will show up on the inside until it spills out onto the outside. It’s an Inner Glow that overtime will be reflected in my actions, my appearance, my health, and the ones around me. Giving others permission to love themselves and others unconditionally too!
I’ve also started over poor Jude’s portrait. I sure am thankful I did because I’m very pleased with my progress on attempt #2.
Daily Creative Quiet Time
Here I go! All through 2022 I’ll be sharing my daily creative quiet time routine for stress management. I’ll shoot for 10-minutes a day (at least) creating anything I please using one or more of the materials listed down below. Some days I’ll be progressing through a pet portrait commission, or an Online Animal Art Masterclass tutorial, or a Youtube tutorial, or a random idea I need to get down on paper.
The other huge and vital part of my creative process involves me spending time in the presence of God and meditating on His word. Most day’s I’ll be pulling straight from the YouVersion bible app, or from one of Rick Warren’s bible teachings, or another daily devotional.
My greatest desire, dear brother or sister, is that I can bring bright color to your eyes during such dark days AND inspire you to develop your own creative quiet time routine. Even for just 10-minutes a day!
