rustic Southern with a touch of Class

What an absolute BLAST it was to create this mural. When interior designer, Kate Birchfield, hired me to create a rustic, southern, Wisconsin style mural with a touch of class, this is what evolved.

My goal for this painting was to show people of class, elegance, and sophistication. I painted the women with lots of make-up, big hair, pearls, and the classic fur coats they use to wear back in the supper club era.

I added many roses to represent the Lauren Elizabeth Fine Art logo, but also to create a romantic, delicate, refined environment.

artivism at it’s finest

When I was hired by graphic designer/artivist, Anni Poppen, owner of Mowgli Studio’s, I knew I was getting myself into something great!

Together we created a mural that represents hope, woman’s rights, diversity, equality, community, animal rights, freedom, imagination, and having a voice.

The hardest thing about this mural was it’s enormous size and detail. It was truly the most challenging, detailed, rewarding mural I have EVER painted in my entire life, and I’m ecstatic about how it turned out.

After this mural I feel like I can tackle any mural that comes me way!

A pleasant SURPRISE

On a missions trip to Ecuador, I was asked on a whim to paint the bible school building connected to a church in Quito.

The owners asked me to create something child like, innocent, and representing Christ. I got the entire youth group involved by having everyone place their painted hand print on the wall.

Then I went in and painted child-like images, as if a child was painting on the wall. One of the funnest, easiest murals I’ve ever created.

Cherubs of the Renaissance Period

Hickory Hall is a banquet hall transformed by Interior Designer, Kate Birchfield. A historic, classy building now used for weddings, banquets, showers, and other special events.

The mural I completed is located in the Randal room, or conference room, to the far left of the entrance. Using acrylics, I painted little cupids and elegant ladies perusing in a very natural environment. I added lots of floral and animal life, along with three woman wearing flowing fabric, and the little innocent cupids flying near by.
