#015 Gifts

I’m hoping I can finish this Beagle pup today! I added another medium to it - Arteza acrylic paint markers. I’m very pleased so far!

If you’re new here I’ve been delving into scripture verses pertaining to the body, our work, and the future. The three areas of my life I most struggle with. My phrase for 2022 is “Confidence in the Lord,” something I hope to grasp or begin to understand this year through this daily creative quiet time routine.

Today’s verse is from my favorite YouVersion bible app.

The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.
— Psalms 24:1

His Gifts

What I’m learning is that I get to care for my body as a gift. It’s not just something I must live with, but a body I get to use and care for. I have the greatest privilege to create with my hands, walk with these legs, and hold babies with these arms! Nothing about my body is perfect, but it’s fearfully and wonderfully made.

And that goes for everything else I own. It was first owned by the Lord and now it’s mine to steward. I can be confident in what the Lord has given me because it’s from Him, created by His powerful hands, entrusted to me because He cares for me deeply.

God doesn’t give bad gifts. Only gifts made with love and a purpose.

Daily Creative Quiet Time

Here I go! All through 2022 I’ll be sharing my daily creative quiet time routine for stress management. I’ll shoot for 10-minutes a day (at least) creating anything I please using one or more of the materials listed down below. Some days I’ll be progressing through a pet portrait commission, or an Online Animal Art Masterclass tutorial, or a Youtube tutorial, or a random idea I need to get down on paper.

The other huge and vital part of my creative process involves me spending time in the presence of God and meditating on His word. Most day’s I’ll be pulling straight from the YouVersion bible app, or from one of Rick Warren’s bible teachings, or another daily devotional.

My greatest desire, dear brother or sister, is that I can bring bright color to your eyes during such dark days AND inspire you to develop your own creative quiet time routine. Even for just 10-minutes a day!
