Students learn how to apply Lauren’s 5-phase creativity system combined with the visual tools and breakable rules of art needed to build unique, balanced compositions.

Students will discover how to use observation, experimentation, and reflection to create authentic, meaningful originals.

Embark on a journey of personal growth and discovery! Each month students will draw out their own unique shape, artistic point of view, and how to create engaging originals using creative storytelling.

Are you an oil painter, acrylic artist, or a colored pencil expert? That’s just fine! Lessons can be applied to other visual art mediums - acrylics, pastels, colored pencils, copic markers, oil paint, gauche, and watercolor.

Students learn simple, fun ways of using a sketchbook as a means of self-expression, idea development, visual tool exploration, and communication.

A basic sketchbook is required for this class. Use any drawing and coloring supplies you have, even just a pen will do!

It’s not just about creating beautiful, unique originals. The process should be fun, exciting, and adaptable.

Students will learn how to create in a way that merges their favorite techniques (exm. applying a pink glaze using a large flat brush) with the creative process (exm. testing out colorful floral designs to express joy and hope).

Stumped on what to add to backgrounds? Not sure how to make your pet portraits more creative? Gain inspiration and creative guidance on adding more interest and variety to your custom and/or original animal portraits.

I’m so happy with my work since I’ve been watching your videos. You’ve helped me so much in finding my style. I applied what you taught to a highland cow painting for my niece.

My experience in this class has been revelatory! Your lesson on Artist Style Milestones was incredible. I think it finally gave me the “aha” I was looking for. I also really appreciate the challenges because they “force” me to try something new and stretch my skills.
— Sami Cave
I can’t wait to keep learning from this class and group! I really want to create more fun and free art. I definitely need help breaking away from the rules sometimes!

  • You can use any drawing and/or coloring tools you have available to you. Click Here to view the exact supplies I use. I recommend some kind of mixed media sketchbook. I love the Strathmore and Canon brand mixed media sketchbooks.

  • Yes, all past video lessons will remain up and build from one another.

  • No, unless that's the medium you want to focus on building original artwork with. You need to know at least the basic fundamental techniques of your medium for this course to really benefit you. All visual fine art mediums are welcome here!
