#030 Seahorse Commission Complete
It’s finished! If I had to name it I would call it, “Just Try”
We will never know what we can do until we actually do it!
I’ve been avoiding this creature for so long because my last two attempts failed miserably. I said to myself, “never again.”
Isn’t it funny how those “never again” moments will keep pestering us until we actually try again. The client of this commission loosely requested any ocean animal and so I decided to try one more time at the Seahorse.
With my phrase for the year being “Confidence in the Lord,” I’ve been trying to do something difficult and challenging each day. Not just in my art, but also in my business, marriage, in my friendships, and even in my cooking. Thing’s I’ve been avoiding or putting off or things I feel totally unqualified to do, but know I should!
What I’m learning is that one is not born with confidence, it must be cultivated. We cannot expect ourselves to always feel confident and capable, but we will feel more confident once we’ve tried and tried again. Perfection doesn’t bring confidence, relentlessly trying does!
Just image what we could do for this world if we truly walked in that wholeness. Knowing we can actually do really hard things with the Lord’s help!
Daily Creative Quiet Time
Here I go! All through 2022 I’ll be sharing my daily creative quiet time routine. I’ll shoot for 10-minutes a day (at least) progressing through a Commission, or an Online Animal Art Masterclass tutorial, or a Youtube tutorial, or artwork for Collectors.
For me the creative process involves more than just colorful paint, it’s an act of praise and worship. I chose the phrase “Confidence in the Lord” as my art/life focus for the year. I plan to pull colorful inspiration from bible verses, the valuable lessons of life, and the vibrant paint I get my hands on! Now lets paint.
