#031 | 365-Days of Color: Wolf Sketch

Today was such a busy one, but I did manage to squeeze in this sketch of a wolf. I’m trying to find good wolf reference photos and I don’t think I’ve found the right one. I’m not sure if I should create a full body painting or something of just the face and chest. Welp, good practice at least!

The beautiful lesson this day (more like month) brought is to slow down and learn intentionally! Today felt so rushed and I didn’t appreciate or really learn anything new. God has a great plan for me that I must savor and cherish, why rush it?! I want to be guided by Him, I want to learn from Him, and I want to retain the tidbits of valuable wisdom I learn along the journey.

The simple believes everything, but the prudent gives thought to his steps.

Daily Creative Quiet Time

Here I go! All through 2022 I’ll be sharing my daily creative quiet time routine. I’ll shoot for 10-minutes a day (at least) creating happy colorful animals! Some days I’ll progress through a pet portrait commission, or an Online Animal Art Masterclass tutorial, or a Youtube tutorial, or artwork for Collectors.

My phrase for the year is “Confidence in the Lord.” For me the creative process involves more than just canvas and paint, it’s an act of praise and worship. Using God’s word I hope to learn and apply what it really means to draw my whole confidence from the Lord. Some days I’ll pull straight from the YouVersion bible app, or from one of Rick Warren’s bible teachings, or another daily devotional. It’s my great hope from all of this to bring bright color to your eyes during such dark days AND to inspire you to develop your own creative quiet time routine. Now let’s paint!
