Day #21 Journal Prompt

Details: Paint a stack of tea cups with an animal inside.

Message: I heard a sermon once where the pastor said you cannot fill someone else’s cup if yours is completely empty. We end up giving nasty words, or impatience, or resentment because our minds and bodies aren’t getting what they need. Let those be signs that we must refresh in someway, even for a short time. For you that might look like a cup of tea and a good book, or a half hour nap, or a long walk with your dogs, or even one of Lauren’s awesome tutorials! Haha.

You cannot give what you don’t have! Respect your energy levels, your mind, and your time so you can give to others in ABUNDANCE. In my house we call it, “mama’s power hour.” Every single day I’ll take an hour to do something that restores my body and/or mind - exercise, a nap, or painting, or a walk by myself. Of course if I miss a day or two that’s fine, life happens, but I make it known to my family and friends that I need that time to be at my best.

Paint Colors: Black, White, Cadmium Yellow, Orange, Sky Blue, Phthalocyanine Blue, and any other colors you want to add!

Other Supplies: Small flat brush, medium flat brush, round detail brush or liner brush, cup for water, paint palette, cloth. All materials and brands are listed HERE.

Instructions: After you complete this creative prompt, use the left side to write down the questions shown below this tutorial. I encourage you to write inside your art journal using your favorite pens, pencils, or markers. Once you’ve completed both sections, post/send just your drawing/painting for a chance to win. NOTE: If you’re left handed, switch the side you plan to paint and write on.

Daily Prayer: Dear Father, we ask for the refresh button in our lives! Help us to create a routine, a lifestyle, where we can regularly fill our cups so we can give to others in abundance. Show us the way Father. Show us how even amongst the chaos and craziness. We praise you Father, Amen.
