#036 | 365-Days of Color: Wolf Progress

Feeling like a sleep deprived mother of two littles. It’s been quite rough with Zachary not sleeping the nights and barely taking naps during the day. AnnaGrace is as fast as a cheetah, getting into things, all things! Especially her mama’s paint and supplies.

Still slow progress on this one. I’m working on the wolf’s fur now. I’ve actually never used color pencils to color a wolf before. I’m not super fond of using CP for fur, but we’ll see. I’m hoping to turn this one into the next Art Collectors fine art print.

I needed this verse today being very depleted.

For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground. I will pour my spirit on your offspring, and my blessings on your descendants.
— Isaiah 44:3

I often pray for wisdom on this.

Honestly, how exactly does God renew our strength when we feel completely exhausted?

I’m coming to learn that it’s through the work of the Holy Spirit. That’s the channel in which God’s spirit flows from. It’s like spiritual “wifi” that keeps our hearts full and alive. When our souls are refreshed it's like water is being poured onto a thirsty land.

It doesn’t start as a physical energy, but more as an inner soul energy. Then it turns into physical strength and endurance.

It’s not brought on by our own good works or efforts, but by God’s goodness. When I feel like I have absolutely NOTHING left, I tune in to Jesus! I ask for His spirit to flow out of me onto my children, or my art, or my cooking, everything. I never know what to expect really, other than I know Jesus is present in all of it.

Daily Creative Quiet Time

Here I go! All through 2022 I’ll be sharing my daily creative quiet time routine. I’ll shoot for 10-minutes a day (at least) progressing through a Commission, or an Online Animal Art Masterclass tutorial, or a Youtube tutorial, or artwork for Collectors.

For me the creative process involves more than just colorful paint, it’s an act of praise and worship. I chose the phrase “Confidence in the Lord” as my art/life focus for the year. I plan to pull colorful inspiration from bible verses, the valuable lessons of life, and the vibrant paint I get my hands on! Now lets paint.
