“Uncertainty” 11x14, Acrylics
Uncertainty is a signed acrylic painting of a fox inspired by the verse Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
It’s so tempting to navigate through uncertainty with dread and frustration. It feels like your walking through a dark forest, trying to find your way out, stumbling over rocks and smacking into pointy branches. Ouch!! Some of us want to sprint through this forest, others will hide in fear, and some will accept it, embrace it, and look for the beauty in it. Which one are you? The opposite of uncertainty is not certainty, it’s presence.
In my own life I’m is so desperately trying to learn and accept the current lessons and present blessings through uncertainty. Being flexible with and open to NOT knowing what will come next. Perhaps instead of giving life to thoughts that scream “I’m trapped and helpless,” we can yell back, “I get to explore, experience, and enjoy this new territory.” We also have the choice to ask, “What can I gain from this and give to others?”
While we wait and stumble, let’s never give up! Instead, let’s stay curious, humble, and ever present in this messy journey.
