The October Print
This month art collectors receive a print of my newest work, “Quiet Time.”
Silence can be really difficult to “take hold” of right now as a mother of two under three years old, nursing an infant, running a business, caring for four pets, keeping up with the house AND having any time with friends or extended family! And with the sleep deprivation definitely kicking in by now I’m tempted to think there is NO time for anything.
There is, however, a few minutes in the morning. I can work with that!
My routine looks something like this - At 5am I’ll get up to feed baby Zachary, make coffee, sit down to pray and read a new scripture verse, and I’ll draw or paint while meditating on that verse. I’ll turn on a sermon or classical music (I’ll admit it’s usually not 100% quiet) but it’s without any other distractions, baby cries, mama demands or requests. Just me, the Lord, and my art.
What does quiet time look like for you?
