#007 Pippa & Katie
Hurray! I’m finished. Meet Pippa (left) and Katie (right) the Maine Coon cats. The owner of these two small lions love flowers, specifically poppies and geraniums. What do you think?
I got my hands on a brand new women’s devotional called, “3-minute Devotions for Women.” Already I’m loving it and a few pages in.
Today’s verse is from Hebrews chapter six.
How I Hope
It’s hard to hope in what you do not see, isn’t it? How can anyone possibly place their trust in an invisible God that allows daily chaos, pain, and suffering?
I know. It’s actually NOT easy for me too! When I see photos of lions being starved to death in abandoned zoos, or when I hear that now 82 million refugees have been forcibly displaced around the world, or when I read about the people dying from Covid, it all hurts my heart so much!
But when that frail, week in the knees, butterflies in my stomach, scared feeling comes on - this is what I think:
1) If I feel extremely sad and angry about all this, imagine how the Lord feels. He feels this same pain x1000 for his suffering children and creation. He made us to have a family!
2) He sees the future. He warns us in the bible that it won’t be pretty, but that’s why He gives us helpful commands, principles, and promises (in the bible) to protect us, to guide us, and to give us a secure hope during these uncertain times!
3) His will is sovereign. Because He knows how this story will go, He knows what’s needed and when. He is still showing up in people’s lives around the world, we’re just never hearing about THOSE stories in the news. God is still the same capable, loving God acting at the right and perfect time. He is still GOOD!
I can rest because the Lord is working behind the scenes! His color is all around us.
I also lean on the fact that God has shown up countless times in my past. The Lord guided me through recovery, helped me out of debt, blessed me with healthy children, a loving, stable marriage, a job I truly enjoy, and protected my family from Covid. I have so much to be thank GOD for! He really is a loving father.
Daily Creative Quiet Time
Here I go! All through 2022 I’ll be sharing my daily creative quiet time routine for stress management. I’ll shoot for 10-minutes a day (at least) creating anything I please using one or more of the materials listed down below. Some days I’ll be progressing through a pet portrait commission, or an Online Animal Art Masterclass tutorial, or a Youtube tutorial, or a random idea I need to get down on paper.
The other huge and vital part of my creative process involves me spending time in the presence of God and meditating on His word. Most day’s I’ll be pulling straight from the YouVersion bible app, or from one of Rick Warren’s bible teachings, or another daily devotional.
My greatest desire, dear brother or sister, is that I can bring bright color to your eyes during such dark days AND inspire you to develop your own creative quiet time routine. Even for just 10-minutes a day!
