Day #12 Journal Prompt
Details: Paint an abstract Siberian Tiger.
Message: Did you know the individual pattern of stripes on each siberian tiger is as unique as a human fingerprint? And even if you shave off their fur you would still see the stripes. That would be one interesting sight now wouldn’t it… a furless, striped tiger!
What stripes do you have hidden? What parts of your identity, character, or story do you fear sharing with people? A favorite verse of mine is, “As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” Proverbs 27:17. Those wounds we keep hidden from our friends and family may actually be festering in the darkness. If you’re weighed down today by heavy guilt, or shame, or anger, or fear, I invite you to share this burden with a loving friend. We all have hidden stripes. We all have things we’re not proud of. However, sharing our story with a friend or professional can bring great healing and relief to you AND even benefit others as well!
Traceable Outline: Click HERE to download.
Paint Colors: White, Black, Sky Blue, Phthalocyanine Blue, Cadmium Yellow, Cadmium Red, Raw Sienna, Orange, Yellow Ochre, Violet.
Other Supplies: Small flat brush, medium flat brush, small liner brush or rigger brush. All materials and brands are listed HERE.
Instructions: After you complete this creative prompt, use the left side to write down the questions shown below this tutorial. I encourage you to write inside your art journal using your favorite pens, pencils, or markers. Once you’ve completed both sections, post/send just your drawing/painting for a chance to win. NOTE: If you’re left handed, switch the side you plan to paint and write on.
Daily Prayer: Dear Father, today I give you all our hidden stripes. Every single wound and scar that we’ve been keeping in the darkness. I pray Father for the courage to be 100% vulnerable with someone we love and trust. Even a professional we can seek out and confide in. Give us the courage to let people in instead of shutting people out. Lord I pray for total healing and restoration in the hearts of every creative in this challenge. Thank you Father, Amen.
