Day #3 Journal Prompt
Details: Create an abstract Red Panda.
Message: Not only do Red Panda’s have a long tail to help them climb, but also a “pseudo-thumb” or a 6th toe. These animals will also use that tail to keep them warm up in the trees and that extra toe to grasp branches. What makes them odd is actually what helps them do exactly what they were designed to do, climb.
“When you realize you lack nothing, the world belongs to you.” - Lao Tzu. When I create art from a place of abundance instead of lack, I feel full. When I encourage someone or give money or serve someone from a place of abundance instead of lack, I feel full. When we realize we have everything we need right NOW to help us do exactly what we were designed to do, life doesn’t feel so impossible. Yes we will need money, influence, time, and creative ideas to achieve our goals, but those things come at exactly the right time, especially when we attract it with our attitude. Today, I challenge you to create with a thankFULL heart, knowing that right now you lack NOTHING! Yes you CAN do anything!
Paint Colors: White, Black, Sky Blue, Raw Sienna, Crimson Red, Rouge, Yellow Ochre, Orange.
Other Supplies: Water, cloth, paint palette, painters tape, small flat brush, medium flat brush, large flat brush, liner or rigger brush. All materials and brands are listed HERE.
Instructions: After you complete this creative prompt, use the left side to write down the questions shown below this tutorial. I encourage you to write inside your art journal using your favorite pens, pencils, or markers. Once you’ve completed both sections, post/send just your drawing/painting for a chance to win. NOTE: If you’re left handed, switch the side you plan to paint and write on.
Daily Prayer: Father thank you for all the things that make us appear, sound, and act different. Thank you for giving abundantly to your children even when we don’t appreciate or acknowledge it sometimes. Father let this lesson help us enjoy life more, not feel so hopeless or trapped, but instead full, free, and excited for what’s to come. Thank you that you don’t ask for perfection, just a heart that wants to learn, love, and grow. Thank you Father for giving us what we need when we need it. Amen.
