8 x 10 - Pet Portrait

Pet Maximum: 1 pet per 8x10.
Labor Hours: 10-15 hours.
Materials: 100% cotton sided canvas using Master’s Touch acrylic paint. Covered with a gloss/matte combo finish for long-term protection and moderate light reflection.
Framing: Paintings can be hung without a frame. Frame is not included.

The Commission Process
Step 1 Discussion: Artwork will be discussed between client and artist via email.
Step 2 Checkout: To hold your spot on the waiting list AND before the creation process begins a deposit must be made. A half-payment deposit or full payment can be made for portraits sized 11x14 and up. A 75% down deposit or full payment can be made for 6x6 and 8x10 inch portraits. The final balance will be due once the painting is approved by the client.
Step 3 Painting: Artist will create a portrait based on the description discussed between artist and client. Artist shall purchase all necessary materials for the sketching, painting, packaging, shipping and/or delivery of the artwork. Artist will send regular photo progress updates via email.
Step 4 Complete: Once the client and artist agrees the painting is complete the artist will either ship the painting or organize client pick-up AFTER the final balance has been paid.
Artist & Client Obligations
Email Collaboration: Artist will create a portrait based on the description discussed between artist and client.
Materials: Artist shall purchase all materials necessary for the sketching, painting, packaging, shipping of the artwork. All materials are listed in the artwork breakdown.
Alterations: Artist will send regular photo updates to client via email. Up to three changes can be made by the client until a $75 alteration fee will be applied for each additional change after three.
Hand Off: Artist shall ship or schedule pick-up once ALL of the following have been completed by the client:
1- Client agrees artwork is complete. 2- Final balance has been paid and received by the artist.
Note: Once the painting has been approved, expect an additional 10-days for drying. Clients must pay the final balance and/or alteration fees within the 10-day window.
Upfront: Artist shall begin sketching once the deposit or full-payment has been received AND once the client is first on the waiting list.
Deadlines: Deadlines will be honored, but are not guaranteed.
Refunds: All payments to the artist are non-refundable.
Damaged/Lost/Stolen: In the event that artwork is damaged/lost/stolen during shipping, the artist agrees to re-create and re-ship artwork for 30% OFF original amount. Deadlines are not guaranteed.
Marketing: Artist will own the copyright and has the right to show the piece on social media, use it as a painting tutorial, and will retain computer files/pictures of it for use in exhibits. However, artist agrees to maintain the anonymity of the subject.
Copyright: Client agrees that the Artist’s rights are protected by the Federal Copyright Act of 1976 and the Federal Visual Rights Act of 1991. Purchase of a copyrighted artwork does not transfer the copyrights. The copyright to reproduce the works in copies, to produce derivative work based on the copyrighted image, and distribute copies is retained by the artist. Any transfer of this copyright must be in writing expressly identifying what rights are being sold and for what purpose.
