Day #19 Journal Prompt
Details: Use just four colors to paint a bird’s wing!
Message: Without feathers, birds cannot fly. They’re perfectly designed, lightweight and flexible yet also rigid enough to help birds lift off the earth, glide through the skies, dive at death-defying speeds, land expertly on flimsy tree branches, and pump continuously for thousands of miles during migrations.
Feathers are truly aerodynamic wonders, and it’s why they make me think of “hope.” Without hope, we cannot fly, glide, dive, or stay strong. We’re designed to fly - create, serve, love, fight for justice - but if hope is missing, we’re flightless.
Martin Luther King Jr. had hope. Infact, his hope even helped others fly high! Even when things got worse, even when darkness looked like it ruled over all, Martin Luther held strong to hope! Are you operating from that same hope?
Paint Colors: White, Violet, Cadmium Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Phthalocyanine Blue.
Other Supplies: Small flat brush, medium flat brush, round detail brush or liner brush, cup for water, paint palette, cloth. All materials and brands are listed HERE.
Instructions: After you complete this creative prompt, use the left side to write down the questions shown below this tutorial. I encourage you to write inside your art journal using your favorite pens, pencils, or markers. Once you’ve completed both sections, post/send just your drawing/painting for a chance to win. NOTE: If you’re left handed, switch the side you plan to paint and write on.
Daily Prayer: Dear Father, thank you for hope. We thank you for Martin Luther King Jr. example, his legacy, and his courage! Help us to operate from that same hope! That even when things look so dark, as if circumstances are getting worse, that we still fly with hope! We praise you Lord, Amen.
