#020 | 365-Creative Quiet Time: Finished Jude

OH SNAP I’m so beyond pleased with Jude’s portrait. I broke up the left and right side of the face into blue and grey. Left side, lots of color, right side, more natural.

This piece is my second attempt at painting Jude. If you look back to my previous blog posts you’ll see the first Jude. Not so great! It goes to show you that working and reworking a painting isn’t always a great idea!

Jude is a boxer pitbull mix if you couldn’t tell. A commission I can finally deem as finished!

Today’s verse comes from the book of Matthew.

Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’, anything more than this comes from evil.
— Matthew 5:37

Daily Creative Quiet Time

Here I go! All through 2022 I’ll be sharing my daily creative quiet time routine. I’ll shoot for 10-minutes a day (at least) creating happy colorful animals! Some days I’ll progress through a pet portrait commission, or an Online Animal Art Masterclass tutorial, or a Youtube tutorial, or artwork for Collectors.

My phrase for the year is “Confidence in the Lord.” For me the creative process involves more than just canvas and paint, it’s an act of praise and worship. Using God’s word I hope to learn and apply what it really means to draw my whole confidence from the Lord. Most day’s I’ll pull straight from the YouVersion bible app, or from one of Rick Warren’s bible teachings, or another daily devotional. It’s my great hope from all of this to bring bright color to your eyes during such dark days AND inspire you to develop your own creative quiet time routine. Now let’s paint!
